Diamond Fluorescence

When you hear diamond and jewelry professionals mention “fluorescence,” they are referring to a condition in diamonds where they will emit a particularly-colored “glow” when placed under ultraviolet light.

Diamond fluorescence is completely natural and cannot usually be seen under normal light by the naked eye. Of course, not all diamonds have fluorescence and those that do will not be negatively affected by its presence since it generally has no significant impact on a diamond’s actual appearance.
