Last Minute Valentine’s Day Plan to Make Her Fall in Love All Over Again

If your plans for Valentine’s Day involve anything with the words “walk” “bridge” or “Brooklyn” you might want to rethink them.  New York is under the throes of a relentless winter and literally under three feet of snow.  Here is a different approach you can take to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.

A recent study published by the University of Rochester‘s Department of Clinical and Social Sciences in Psychology found that watching and discussing movies about relationships with your spouse is as effective at lowering divorce rates as counseling programs. Who needs flowers, chocolate, and presents when you can just cuddle up on the couch and watch a tearjerker?  (Editor’s note: some of these movies go over better with chocolate.)  If you’re having a hard time coming up with movie titles about couples, the University has a guided movie list.  A few samples are A Star is Born (the original 1937 version is available for streaming on Netflix), She’s Having a Baby (also available for streaming on Netflix), Funny Girl, The Devil’s Advocate, and Husbands and Wives.

Forget the snow/slush, the falling ice, and the terrible road conditions and just stay in this Valentine’s!  Few things are as romantic to a woman as hearing her man say, “baby, I want to work on our relationship so that we are happy together forever,” although I suppose, “I’m willing to watch this chick flick with you” might be a close second.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Well done. I can certainly get down with a romantic night in if he says sweet things to make me feel special!
